World Tourism - The sprinkling of jade green islands that makes up Pulau Payar lies just 30km south-east of Langkawi. It's just a 1-hour boat ride out to the best marine park on Malaysia's West Coast, making it an ideal choice for a day outing. This well-preserved, uninhabited marine park extends over a number of islands, with Pulau Payar being the largest. Your base out here is the floating platform moored off Pulau Payar. But the real attraction of this platform lies below sea level. Step into the underwater observation chamber to view the marine life surrounding a reef. Want to get even closer to the swirl of fishes that make these corals their home? Grab a mask, a snorkel and fins and join the spectacle! Are you into scuba diving? The best diving is along the reef system that skirts the south, east and west of Pulau Payar. Please check with your dive operator what the visibility is like during that time. It can vary from time to time. There is no accommodation in Pulau Payar as it is a marine park, but that's not really an issue since Langkawi, with all its fine resorts and restaurants, is just a quick boat-ride away. Officials said the park will make 330 jobs by 2011, with pressure on local hiring. In coming years, the rest of the renewal is expected to create more than 25,000 structure jobs and 6,000 lasting ones, along with billions of dollars in financial activity. The city has assured to invest about $6.5 million toward improving the neighborhood’s rotting infrastructure in research for building more than 5,000 housing units, counting 900 affordable ones. The Leaning Tower of Niles, Illinois was finished in 1934 by entrepreneur Robert Ilg as part of a recreation park for employees of the Ilg Hot Air Electric Ventilating Company of Chicago. It is located at 6300 W. Touhy Avenue and it is a half size copy of the unique tower in Pisa, Italy, which is a Niles sister city. Some wonder that part of the inspiration to construct the tower was to observe the 600th anniversary of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. A more likely clarification is its original functional reason, to store water for outdoor leisure swimming pools. In 1960, the descendants of Robert Ilg contributed part of the park for the building of the Leaning Tower YMCA. Other facilities of the employees' recreational park incorporated a wooden toboggan run, which was in decaying but still evident in the 1960s. In 1991, the village of Niles, Illinois recognized a sister city pact with Pisa, Italy. A $1.2 million Renovation of the Leaning Tower of Niles was started in 1995 by Mayor Nicholas Blase and the Board of Trustees, and was finished in 1996, civilizing the structure, facade and the Plaza area. The number of foreign visiting Sweden climbed 3.3 percent in 2009, a new record high bucking the depression and a moribund European trend, new information from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth prove. The information that Sweden has direct to benefit from the global depression results from a mixture of four factors, Peter Terpstra, an analyst at the agency told The Local on Wednesday. "Firstly, the depression has meant that people are ongoing to travel but they are not traveling as far, the similar thing change that occurred after 9/11." "Secondly, Sweden's money has been weak in relation to the euro and this has profited tourism during the recession." Peter Terpstra highlight that these factors are fleeting and are not amazing on which to base a long term tourism policy, but he added that the approval of specific measures has also improved Sweden as a tourist destination. " Tourist communications has improved in Sweden. I am mainly referring to improved flight relations to Europe, the main tourist market in the world." "Lastly, Trip to Sweden - the Swedish tourist panel - was able to respond quickly to the onset of depression and direct its efforts at our neighboring countries." In whole, 5.8 million overnight stays were evidenced in Sweden in 2009, a raise of 3.3 percent on 2008. According to UN World Tourism Organization information for 2010, travel to and within Europe turn down by 5 percent as a whole. The amount of Danes visiting Sweden rise by 20 percent on an annualized basis and this is, at least in part, an effect of the tourist team’s efforts, Peter Terpstra says. "We have a lot of people close up to our margins who like to travel a lot. The Norwegians particularly respond to the favorable exchange rate." The report specific’s that the depression has impacted the nature of tourism, with business traveler numbers down, and lesser cost option more popular. Sweden's camp sites record a 6.1 percent boost in overnight stays while hotel numbers stayed at 2008 levels, with revenues falling by 5.2 percent. Ruifang Township is a renowned township of Taiwan’s northeast. It is known for its roots in the mining industry, which gradually evolved into other industries. Jiufeng, a part of Ruifang, was Taiwan’s gold mining center in the past. It is a small mountain village with ever changing scenery of both mountain and sea that still retains the simple lifestyle of the past. In 1893, gold dust was discovered in the surrounding area, drawing a river of gold seekers into Jiufeng and launching Taiwan’s own gold rush. By the end of the second world war, following Taiwan’s independence from Japan, the gold rush had diminished and the crowds began to scatter, finally coming to an end in 1971. Jiufeng has become a place where the busy urban dweller can finally find a place to relax his or her mind. Jiufeng is located on a hilly area that faces the ocean and is surrounded on three sides by mountains. It is a mountain colony stretching over high and low, with its people still maintaining their original simple lifestyle. Because the houses and buildings are built close together, residents interact frequently, lending this place a warm and rich human touch. With the changing of seasons, the scenery also varies greatly, presenting different aspects of Jiufeng. In the past, Jiufeng was the dreamland of gold diggers; as of now, it has become a sanctuary for many artists. Scenic Bohol casts an enigmatic charm drawn from the many archaic mementos spread throughout the oval-shaped island - from unique rock formations to a 45-million-year-old mammal species, from massive stone watchtowers built by the Spaniards in the 18th century. Surrounding the mainland are 73 other smaller offshore islands and islets whose palm-fringed coastlines are rimmed by white sand and sheltering coves. Serpentine coastal highways wind along unsullied beaches and rustic rivers where the tourist can stop at any point and jump in for a dip.
Bohol is the perfect area for scuba diving, kayaking, trekking and cave exploration. For the less adventurous, it offers leisurely pursuits like cruising, swimming, snorkeling or, simply, collecting seashells by the seashore.
Town visits promise exciting cultural treats that include scheduled performances by the Teatro Bolanon, Dimiao Rondalla, Diwanag Dance Theater and the award-winning Loboc Children's Choir.
Bohol is an anchor tourist destination and one of the 7,000 times more islands that make up the Philippine archipelago.
Bohol is like a jade brooch set on a velvet-blue sea. Its fertile land has hills that roll gently around lush forests and grassy meadows. Marine life - from schools of tiny reef fish to bigger pods of dolphins and whales - teem in the surrounding waters.
Located east of Cebu and southwest of Leyte in the Philippines' Central Visayas region, Bohol is bounded on the north by the Camotes Sea, on the west by the Cebu Strait, and on the South by the Bohol Sea.
