Empire State Building at New York City

Tuesday, January 26, 2010
Once again New York’s tallest building; this Art Deco structure increases 1,252 feet (381metre) from the land, with 102 floors and was construct in 16 months. It was prepared from Indiana limestone and granite by aluminum-plated mullions. The Empire State Building's 6,500 windows are supported aesthetically by sandblasting the spandrels, merger their tone and making the vertical striping effect.

Empire State Building
Not only was this impressive building built during the Depression, but it was build so fast that it changed the way skyscrapers were thinking about by designers. All four front walls are visible from the street, which is odd, and the 700-foot spire was initially intended as a docking bay for zeppelins.
